Top-level design commitments for the Splectrum engineering. These are philosophical structure expressed as engineering. The quality test at this level is conformance with the philosophical framework — low friction. Engineering rationale belongs in the designs that implement these commitments.
Applies across all three pillars: mycelium, splectrum, HAICC.
P0: being implies language yields three inseparable aspects — mycelium (state), splectrum (meaning), HAICC (cognition). Three fabrics, not three layers. Aspects of the same thing.
The architecture describes how a Splectrum system must look — not how it must be physically built. Mycelium is the physical carrier. Splectrum is the logical meaning. HAICC is the activation that resolves one into the other. Physical implementations are free to use whatever technology fits, as long as they are compatible with the logical design. Compatibility, not literal translation.
Physical implementation is JIT — it goes only as far as capability requires. Where there is no need, there is no implementation — architecture of absence at the physical level. Large parts of the logical design may have no physical counterpart because the capability hasn’t been called for yet. The gap is not a deficit. It is the natural state of a design that materialises through use.
P4: equal standing all the way through. Decentralisation is not an afterthought — it is constitutive.
P0, P1: no context without language, no language without context. Every context has language, every language creates context. Context and its language are inseparable design units.
P2: reality is the dynamic of the data state of being. The engineering does not model reality — it creates one. This applies to every design act at every level.
P4, Splectrum + HAICC: splectrum supplies the languages. HAICC supplies the process flow. Natural language as carrier removes language lock-in. AI makes this operational. The carrier must be the most fluid medium available.
P4, Splectrum: the boundary is never perfectly sealed — and that is generativity, not failure. Rigid formal languages close down possibility. Natural language keeps the system open at the fringes. The fringes are where new meaning enters.
P4: the relationship between philosophy and engineering is relational, not representational. Neither governs the other. The quality gate is low friction at the boundary — conformance, not perfection. High friction signals misalignment.
P0: being comes into existence through the act of differentiation — the boundary expresses the differentiation. Context and perimeter are structurally real. Treating the boundary as an afterthought violates P0.
Languages are beings. Components of languages are beings. The set is self-referential. The same structural patterns apply at every level — entities, protocols, subjects, the system itself.
P5: growth is driven by historicity, quality is driven by selective abstraction. Web not tree. Spawn not design. The full power was always there. More languages, more connections, more ways of engaging what was always there. Growth through diversification, not centralisation.
P2: the subject never touches the data world directly — only through the local mycelium interface. There is full visibility of what the subject experiences. No hidden stuff behind the interface. Known by its imprint on the fabric, not by looking inside.
P3: no separate sharing mechanism. What you can see is what is (potentially) shared. Convergence is shared reality, objectivity. Shared reality is produced by subject interaction mediated by the data fabric, not discovered behind it and not conversational.
Pillar division of concern. Protocol libraries — language definitions, schemas, meaning structures — are splectrum. Process triggering, readiness, execution, the attention mechanism — HAICC. Mycelium hosts both as facts in the fabric.
HAICC: the persona declares required capabilities. These are tested against available capabilities — human and AI. The conformance determines work division. Optimisation direction: toward AI autonomy. The human retains what AI capability does not yet cover.
HAICC: conscious is what is in focus — the work at hand. Subconscious is what supports it — the additional activity needed to achieve the conscious task. AI and human are present in both layers. The persona is the continuous identity across both.
HAICC: process capabilities dormant in the fabric until data state change wakes them. What works reinforces, what doesn’t fades. No orchestration — the data state is the relay. Orchestration if it appears is emergent.
The neuroscience grounding — Neural Darwinism, Global Workspace Theory, predictive processing — is not metaphor. It is structural correspondence. The same pattern, in a different medium.
Design commitments, each falling from the framework through its interaction with the overall engineering goal. Not designed — discovered. Not imposed — emergent. Ready to be stress tested through use by cascading the design downwards. Confirmation through low friction reality. These commitments may evolve as the engineering develops. But only to improve alignment of the engineering to the framework.
